Collections

Collect money for a joint gift, class trip or shared fund — with a clear overview of who has paid.

A collection is a way for a group to gather money from its members. The host states what it's for, how much each person should contribute and how the payment should be made (usually Swish). Inbjuden keeps track of who has paid, who's pending and who is exempt.

At a glance

Collections are started inside a group — not on individual events.

You set a title, per-person amount, due date and optionally a Swish number.

All group members are included automatically. You can exempt individuals (e.g. the birthday person).

Members pay via the Swish button or mark themselves as paid if they used another channel.

The host can send reminders to those who haven't paid — the text is copied ready to the clipboard.

If you're organising the collection

As group admin you start the collection, set the amount and follow up on payments.

Open the Collection tab in the group

Go to your group and choose the "Collection" tab. The first time you see an empty view with the "New collection" button. Click to start.

Fill in title, amount and due date

Write a clear title (e.g. "Gift for Lisa" or "Berlin class trip"). Choose whether the amount is fixed per person or whether everyone picks their own amount. Add a due date so Inbjuden can show overdue status in the card.

Add Swish details

Enter your Swish number (or someone else's who receives the money) and a short message. Inbjuden builds a Swish link per member with the right amount and reference — so you can match payments manually afterwards. You can also leave the Swish field empty if the group pays cash or bank transfer.

Exempt people who shouldn't pay

All group members are invited automatically. Untick anyone who shouldn't pay — e.g. the birthday person, the organiser or someone who has already contributed. You can add a short reason ("Birthday person") that shows in the list.

Follow status and remind those who haven't paid

Once the collection is running you see a card with "Paid", "Pending" and "Exempt" plus a total amount collected. Click "Remind pending" to copy a ready-made reminder text (with reference, amount and Swish details) to the clipboard. Then send it via whatever channel the group uses.

Mark payments that came another way

If someone swished you directly without going through the link, or handed over cash, click "Mark as paid" next to the person. The card and totals update.

If you're a group member who needs to pay

When a collection starts in one of your groups you see it under the "Collection" tab there.

Open the collection

Go to the group and choose the "Collection" tab. You see your amount, what it's for and the due date. If the amount is "Optional" you choose the amount yourself at payment.

Pay with Swish

Click "Pay with Swish". On mobile the Swish app opens directly with the right amount, number and reference. On desktop you get a QR code to scan with the Swish app. Use the prefilled reference so the organiser can find your payment more easily.

Mark yourself paid if you used another channel

If you paid with cash, bank transfer or some other method click "Mark paid". The organiser is notified and can confirm.

What to do if you're exempt

If the host has unticked you, you appear as "Exempt" in the list with a reason (e.g. "Birthday person"). You don't need to do anything.

Tips & FAQ

1

Collections only live in groups

Right now you can't start a collection directly on an event. Create a group for the participants first — or use gift ideas with cost splitting if that's enough.

2

Inbjuden doesn't take a cut of the Swish flow

The money goes straight between the member and the Swish number you provided. Inbjuden can't see what actually happens in Swish — confirmations are manual.

3

"Optional amount" is good for shared funds

Use the "Optional amount" type for class funds or voluntary contributions where everyone gives different amounts. Each member then picks their own amount when paying.

4

Reminders are copied to the clipboard

When you click "Remind pending" a text with reference, amount and Swish details is copied to the clipboard. Paste into SMS, email or chat — Inbjuden doesn't send anything automatically.

5

Completed collections are archived

When everyone has paid or been exempted the collection moves from "Active collections" to "Completed collections". You can still open it for history.
