Create an event
From idea to live event in under ten minutes — invite, manage replies and keep everyone in the loop.
You create events through a short four-step wizard: basics, time and place, visibility, and a summary. When you hit Create the event lands on its own detail page where you can invite guests, share the link, edit details and track replies.
At a glance
The wizard saves drafts locally — you can close the tab and pick up later.
Picking an event type gives you a template with the right fields (wedding, workshop, birthday…).
Visibility controls who sees the event: public, link-only, or private within a group.
Live mode is your event's own detail page where you share the link and watch RSVPs in real time.
The 'Blitz invite' shortcut on the dashboard creates a spontaneous event in 30 seconds.
If you're organising
You drive the whole flow — the wizard does the heavy lifting, you just fill in the fields.
Start the wizard
Click 'Create event' in the sidebar or use the Blitz button on the dashboard for a quick event. For spontaneous things (afterwork tonight, dog walk in an hour) Blitz is enough — it skips the wizard and only asks for title, length and visibility.
Basics — name and type
Write a clear name (e.g. 'Sofia's 8th birthday' or 'TypeScript workshop'). Pick an event type from the gallery — it controls which fields the wizard shows later. Weddings get a guest list with RSVPs; workshops get max attendees and price.
Time and place
Set start and end time. If the date isn't pinned — tick 'Date to be decided', so you can gather replies without locking the calendar. Location is free text or a map pin; with a map pin guests get directions automatically.
Visibility — who sees the event
Three levels: 'Public' (shows on the map and in search results), 'Link only' (hidden from search but anyone with the link can attend), or 'Private' (only members of a specific group). Private events require you to first pick a subgroup — top-level groups like 'Stockholm' can't host events.
Summary and publish
Review every field. Hitting 'Create event' lands you straight on the event's own page — there you share the link, invite guests, edit details and watch incoming RSVPs. Not ready to publish? Save as draft instead.
Invite guests and track replies
On the event's detail page you'll find 'Invitations' (send via email/SMS, share QR), 'Attendees' (list of yes/no/maybe/waitlist) and 'Wall' (chat with guests). You can mark payments, flag no-shows or export the attendee list whenever you want.
If you're a guest
You reply via the link you received — no account needed to say yes.
Open the invitation link
The link arrives via email, SMS, Messenger or a shared QR. You land on the event's public page with date, location and description. If the event is free you don't need to log in to reply — name and email are enough.
Say yes, no or maybe
Three buttons: 'Yes', 'No', 'Maybe'. Your reply goes straight to the host. You can change your reply later through the same link — use the same email/phone and the system will find your earlier reply.
Add plus-ones or siblings
If the host allowed plus-ones you'll see an 'Plus-ones' field (adult companions) or 'Siblings' (for family events). Write the name of each extra person so the host can plan seating, food and age groups.
Pay if it's a paid event
For paid events the amount + 'Pay with Swish' appears after you said yes. On mobile Swish opens directly; on desktop you get a QR code. The host confirms the payment manually — it can take a few minutes before your status flips to 'Paid'.
Tips & FAQ
The wizard saves drafts automatically
If you close the tab mid-wizard the draft stays locally. Visit 'Create event' again and the wizard asks if you want to continue where you left off. To start over — click 'Start over' at the top of the step.
Private visibility requires a subgroup
You can't bind a private event to a top-level group like 'Stockholm' or 'The Andersson family'. Create or pick a subgroup first — the wizard only shows groups that are valid event hosts.
Blitz invite for spontaneous stuff
From the dashboard: write a title ('Afterwork tonight'), pick length (1h/2h/4h) and visibility (nearby or friends). The event is created with start time = now. Good for spontaneous gatherings — not for planned things where the start time should be set in advance.
Cancel or edit
On the event's detail page — menu button (three dots) → 'Edit' to change details or 'Cancel event' to close it down. Cancellation sends a notification to all registered guests with your optional explanation.
